Awarded NCQA HIP Certification
Protocol Driven Healthcare, Inc. (PDHI) announced today that two of its health information products (HIP) have been awarded certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), an independent nonprofit organization that assesses and reports on the quality of the nation’s managed care plans:
- ConXus Profile health risk appraisal (HRA) – HIP 1
- ConXus Steps consumer health tools (wellness programs) – HIP 2
HIP certification reduces oversight and information gathering by organizations seeking NCQA accreditation. Those organizations using PDHI’s appraisals and tools receive automatic credit for member connections standards for health appraisals (MEM 1, elements A-F) and consumer health tools (MEM 2, elements A-E) when undergoing an NCQA accreditation survey.
"Earning NCQA's HIP certification demonstrates that an organization has expertise in gathering and disseminating health care information for health plan members," said Kathleen C. Mudd, vice president of product delivery at NCQA. "PDHI is to be commended for being one of the first organizations in the nation to be reviewed for these services."
The health risk appraisal and consumer health tools are integral components of the ConXus health-improvement platform. The platform is designed for healthcare organizations that deliver health and wellness programs to multiple employer end clients. This enterprise platform enables the flexible and localized delivery of comprehensive wellness programs that include health risk appraisals, stratification, biometric screening data integration, behavior change, health coaching, wellness challenges and events, and incentive tracking and fulfillment.
"We are an organization committed to continuous quality improvement, and I believe that has been validated by this certification process,” said PDHI President Jennifer Jolley. “Health plan clients using our HIP 1 and HIP 2 solution components will now find applying for NCQA accreditation much easier."
Certification products represent a subset of standards and guidelines for NCQA accreditation products. As with accreditation products, the review process is rigorous. A review oversight committee of physicians analyzes the team’s findings and assigns a certification level based on the organization’s performance against NCQA’s standards.
