Bery Engebretsen, MD, is a practicing family physician and a founding board member of the Iowa/Nebraska Primary Care Association. His publications include journal articles in such areas as behavioral science, disease prevention, and public sector healthcare. Dr. Engebretsen recently retired as executive director with Primary Health Care, Inc., Des Moines.
Jeannette R. Ickovics, PhD, is associate professor in the Division of Chronic Disease Epidemiology, director of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Program at Yale University, New Haven, and director of the Connecticut Women’s Health Program. Her research interests include understanding behavioral, psychological, and social influences on health status and on altering adverse lifestyles.
Frederic J. Scoopo, MD, is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, and pediatrics. He serves as assistant clinical professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and is a physician with Atlantic Health Systems.
Nancy Morgan Andreola, BS, RN, has developed and implemented programs on schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression. A member of the American Medical Writers Association, she is an award-winning healthcare writer for both professional and consumer audiences.
Peter H. Brubaker, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Health and Exercise Science and director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem. Dr. Brubaker’s teaching and research focuses on understanding the role of exercise in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.
Elizabeth A. Jones, MSN, APRN, BC, is the director of program management for Protocol Driven Healthcare, Inc., where she oversees clinical content and develops patient education material. She has served as clinical coordinator at Morristown (NJ) Memorial Hospital and as adjunct nursing faculty at County College of Morris (NJ). She completed a postgraduate study of Prochaska's transtheoretical model and its application in promoting health behavior change.
Elovia Peddle, MS, RD, LD, CDE, is a dietitian and certified diabetes educator with experience in hospital and community wellness plans who now serves as director of the employee health and wellness program at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland.
