Des Moines, Iowa -- July 19, 2006: Protocol Driven Healthcare, Inc (PDHI) today announced the appointment of two new advisory board members, Jeannette R. Ickovics, PhD, and Bery Engebretsen, MD.

Drs. Ickovics and Engebretsen bring to the board extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults, and will initially assist PDHI in developing a health risk assessment directed at college students. As a response to client demand, the college HRA is focused on the lifestyle and risk behaviors specific to adults aged 18 to 30.

Jeannette R. Ickovics, PhD, is associate professor in the Division of Chronic Disease Epidemiology and director of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Program at Yale University, New Haven. Professor Ickovics is also director of the Connecticut Women’s Health Program, working on community-based longitudinal studies that promote women's reproductive health. Professor Ickovics’s research interests include understanding behavioral, psychological, and social influences on health status and on altering adverse lifestyles and psychosocial risk factors at the level of the individual, primary social groups, and communities.

Bery Engebretsen, MD, is a practicing family physician and a founding board member of the Iowa/Nebraska Primary Care Association, which provides development support services and programs to member community and migrant health centers. Dr. Engebretsen recently retired as executive director with Primary Health Care, Inc., a Public Health Service Community Health Center that includes a dental program, a Ryan White HIV program, and Grand View College Student Health.

The PDHI Medical Advisory Board provides input into the development and ongoing maintenance of PDHI products, ensuring clinical accuracy and consistency with current guidelines. Members include healthcare professionals involved in all aspects of patient management.
