Des Moines, IA, June 5, 2007 -- Protocol Driven Healthcare, Inc. announced today that Iowa Health System has deployed PDHI's ConXus Profile, an online health risk assessment, and the integrated ConXus Direct health coaching module.

The ConXus applications will be used by 15,000 Iowa Health System employees located at 10 affiliate hospitals. Participants are stratified into comprehensive health improvement programs and assigned health coaches based on their HRA results. Such an approach takes dual aim at improving employees' health and successfully revealing previously unavailable information.

“Implementing the HRA and basic data mining has given us new insight into our risk profile," said Michelle Gogerty, Director of Health and Wellness at Iowa Health System. "In the short time since deploying this solution for our own employees, we have already discovered a near 40% increase in the number of employees who have been diagnosed with conditions that were not detected through claims data."

Standardization of data collection across all affiliates will provide for a baseline and ongoing measurement of the Iowa Health System population. Iowa Health System will drive utilization of the HRA and accompanying health coaches on a model of points earned and redeemed.

The phased implementation will continue during 2007 as the ConXus applications are adopted by the Iowa Health System Occupational Health groups that provide corporate wellness programs to local employers.

The HRA uses conditional branching logic based on age and gender. On completion of the questionnaire, each participant receives a personal wellness profile detailing health risks and recommendations for improvement. The results of the HRA also drive content recommendations from Staywell Custom Communications (a division of MediMedia), providing a personalized health and wellness portal.
